Light on the water: a night to remember

Highlight of this year’s ANZAC commemoration will be the launch of a huge fleet of paper boats on the Port River on ANZAC Day Eve.
Each boat will carry a lighted candle in memory of the Diggers who went ashore at Gallipoli in the face of heavy enemy fire and of the Merchant Navy who transported them to and from the battle, sharing the risks of the landing.

We’d like as many young people as possible to take part in this event, which promises to be quite spectacular, so we’re asking everyone to do their best to get school students to join in. Read more
